Tomato pie

The tomato pie is one of the French specialities that has lots of variations. Here, I will show you how to prepare my favourite variation: the one with mozzarella.

Ingredients

  • 1 short crust pastry
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 1 ball of mozzarella
  • Mustard
  • Basil
  • Olive oil

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Place the short crust pastry in a mould, prick it and bake it for 15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, slice the tomatoes and mozzarella into slices.
  • Take the dish out of the oven and spread mustard on the bottom of the dish, measuring out as you like.
  • Spread the tomatoes in a rosette on the bottom of the pie.
  • Intercalate mozzarella every 2 slices of tomatoes.
  • Add a drizzle of olive oil and sprinkle with basil.
  • Bake for 20 minutes and serve hot.
