Crostinies

The crostini is an Italian appetizer which origins date back to the Middle Ages, when Italian peasants ate their meals on slices of bread rather than on plates.

Ingredients

  • 12 slices of bread
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 6 slices of Bayonne ham
  • 2 balls of mozzarella
  • Basil
  • Olive oil

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Toast the bread slices and place them on a baking tray.
  • Cut your tomatoes and mozzarella into slices, as well as the Bayonne ham.
  • Arrange the tomatoes, Bayonne ham and mozzarella on the toasted bread in succession.
  • Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with basil.
  • Place in the oven and serve hot.
