Recipe of Poutine
Ingredients
- 8 potatoes.
- 600g of cheddar cheese.
- 2 shallots.
- 2 cloves of garlic.
- 50g of brown sugar.
- 5 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar.
- 20g of butter.
- 50cl of chicken broth.
- 1 small can of tomato paste.
- 1 pinch of cayenne pepper.
- 2 cloves.
- 1 tablespoon of cumin.
- 2 bay leaves.
- 3 tablespoons of cornstarch.
- Frying oil.
- Salt and pepper.
Preparation
- Peel and mince the shallots and garlic.
- In a saucepan, melt the sugar in a little water with the shallots and garlic over medium heat.
- Pour in the balsamic vinegar, add the butter and reduce the heat.
- Pour in the broth and add the tomato paste and spices.
- Mix and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Put the cornstarch into the sauce and make it thicken for 5 to 10 minutes over low heat.
- Cut the potatoes into fries and fry them.
- Drain the fries.
- Cut the cheddar in pieces and place them on the fries.
- Cover everything with sauce.
