Banana Jam with Rum

Recipe of Banana Jam with Rum

Ingredients

  • 1kg of ripe bananas.
  • 750g of brown sugar.
  • 30cl of water.
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
  • 3 vanilla pods.
  • 1 teaspoon of powdered ginger.
  • 5cl of rum.
  • 3 limes.

Preparation

  • Peel the bananas and cut them into slices.
  • Combine the water, lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, halved vanilla and ginger.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the syrup is homogenous.
  • Add the bananas and cook for 15 to 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from the heat and add the rum.
  • Put the jam in jars.
  • Close the jars and let cool.
