Recipe of Banana Jam with Rum
Ingredients
- 1kg of ripe bananas.
- 750g of brown sugar.
- 30cl of water.
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
- 3 vanilla pods.
- 1 teaspoon of powdered ginger.
- 5cl of rum.
- 3 limes.
Preparation
- Peel the bananas and cut them into slices.
- Combine the water, lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, halved vanilla and ginger.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the syrup is homogenous.
- Add the bananas and cook for 15 to 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from the heat and add the rum.
- Put the jam in jars.
- Close the jars and let cool.
