Ingredients
Serving 6 portions
- 200 gr All-purpose flour
- 150 gr shrimp peeled, coarsely chopped
- 100 gr cabbage, finely sliced or shredded
- 50 gr beansprout
- 1 pcs big/ medium carrot, cut into matchsticks or shredded
- 1 Egg
- 2 stalk green onion, finely sliced
- 1 stalk coriander leave (optional)
- 250 ml cooking oil/ sunflower oil
- Enough water
- 3 garlic
- 5 shallots
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1teaspoon salt
Preparation
- Finely chopped or blended using chopper machine or blender garlic and shallots.
- Mix and stir well, flour, chopped ingredients, egg, vegetables, add water little by little until you get the right consistency (medium thickness dough).
- Heat cooking oil, take a spoonful of dough, fry until brown on both sides, remove and drain.
- Serve warm with fresh cayenne pepper or hot sauce or ketchup
Notes
- Do not knead the bakwan dough by hand because the results will be tough, use a spatula.
- Use the non-stick frying pan.
- If you do not like vegetables, you can change the main ingredient with prawns, sweet corn, bacon, or sausages.
- This kind of snack very best pairing with cola, tea, or coffee. It could be a hot appitezer too.
