Aligot is a traditional French dish that comes from the Auvergne region. It is a mash potatoes with cheese and is usually served with a Toulouse sausage.
Recipe of Aligot
Ingredients
- 500g potatoes
- 300g Tomme d’Auvergne
- 50g butter
- 20cl fresh cream
- 1 clove of garlic
- Salt and pepper
Preparation
- Peel the potatoes and cook them in a saucepan full of water for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Drain the potatoes and mash them while adding the butter, cream, garlic and a bit of salt and pepper.
- Cut the cheese into thin slices and add it to the mash while heating over low heat.
- While heating over low heat, mix the mash in the shape of an “8” until you get a smooth mash.
