Ingredients

  • 500g (3-4) bratwursts
  • 2 cans of tomato sauce
  • Curry powder to taste (usually around 4-5 teaspoons)
  • 2 teaspoons of smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon of onion powder
  • One tablespoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of chili powder (optional)

Directions

  1. Put the tomato sauce in a saucepan on medium-low heat. The idea is to warm up the sauce for few minutes.
  2. When it’s warm, turn the heat down to low.
  3. Add all the spices – curry, paprika, black pepper, chili and stir for around 10 minutes.
  4. Pan fry the bratwursts or grill them (they are tastier when they are fried).
  5. Then slice them and after putting them on a plate add the currywurst sauce.
  6. The dish can be served warm or cold with some bread and French fries.
  7. And last but not least, a cold beer, to make it taste even better.
