Have you ever tasted Peanut Sauce? Here’s your chance!

Peanut Sauce, also called Pecel, Satay Sauce, Sambal Kacang, or Bumbu Kacangl, is a sauce widely used in the cuisines of Africa, Malaysia, China, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam. This delicious sauce is made of fried or roasted peanuts, and it goes well with vegetables, chicken and meat. Try it out!

Ingredients

  • 1 1″ (2,5cm) piece ginger, peeled
  • 1 small garlic clove
  • 1/2 cup (125g) creamy peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon (packed) light brown sugar
  • 1/4 -1/2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes

Directions

  1. Drop garlic clove and ginger into a blender and blend until finely chopped.
  2. Add peanut butter, brown sugar, lime juice, soy sauce, red pepper flakes, and 1/3 cup (80ml) water and blend, adding more water by tablespoonfuls if needed to thin, until smooth.
  3. Transfer to a small bowl, cover, and chill. Bring to room temperature before using. Peanut Sauce can be made 3 days ahead.
