Mongolian Beef

Here is a recipe to cook a mongolian beef in a slow cooker. The cooking time might seem quite long but there is barely any preparation to do and the beef will be more tender than ever. It basically cooks itself! Perfect if you want to impress your family or friends.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pound of flank steak
  • 1/4 cup of cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoons of minced garlic
  • 3/4 cups of soy sauce
  • 3/4 cups of water
  • 3/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 cup of grated carrots
  • green onions for garnish

Preparation

Cut the flank steak into think strips. Either in a large bowl or in a ziplock bag add the steak, the cornstarch and shake or combine to coat.

In a slow cooker add the olive oil, the minced garlic, the brown sugar, the water, the grated carrots. Stir well. Then add the flank steak and stir again.

Cook either on high for 2-3 hours or on low heat for 4-5 hours. You can serve with rice and garnish with green onions.

Enjoy !
