Grandma’s apple pie

In Germany every grandmother knows how to bake a traditional German apple pie. If you want to get a taste of this delicious Sunday afternoon dessert and want to bake it for your family or friends, check out this tasty recipe!



  • 2 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 stick butter
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 4 eggs

  • 1 1/3 cup flour


  • 5 apples


Heat the milk in a pot and melt in the butter. Let the milk-butter mixture cool and beat and froth the eggs. Add sugar to your eggs. Combine your two mixtures and add flour and baking powder into your bowl. Stir your dough for one minute.

Preheat the oven to 400°F and cover a baking tray with a baking sheet. Spread the dough on the covered tray. 

Peel the apples and cut them into thin slices. Spread the apple slices on your dough. 

Mix butter, sugar and flour for your crumbs. Knead the crumbs with your hands and sprinkle them on top of your apples. 

Bake the cake for 30 minutes.
