Raspberry Ice Cream

Beat the heat with some amazing instant raspberry ice cream. Do it like the old days, well almost. Little known fact about ice cream, the history of ice cream, or “snow ice cream”, started some 3,000 years ago in China. Ice creams were originally made of ice and snow, mixed with fruit and topped with honey. Also, the Roman Emperor Nero liked ice cream! He had some ice and snow brought to him from the mountains and used to eat it with fruit and honey.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup half-and-half
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup raspberries
  • 4 cups ice cubes
  • ½ cup rock salt

Preparation

Add half-and-half, sugar, vanilla extract and raspberries in a medium Ziploc bag. Close it securely and set aside.

Add the ice and rock salt to a large Ziploc bag, then add the medium Ziploc bag with the mix. Close it securely and shake for about 10 minutes.

Serve and garnish to taste.
