Quick to prepare and a fresh start, the recipe for today will be about Caprese. It is a very light dish that requires no cooking so that all precious ingredients retain their properties. The Caprese salad is best when prepared with daily fresh products, making it a perfect summer dish that will attract all food lovers through simplicity.
This dish is an all-Italian recipe born on the Mediterranean island of Capri, as the name suggests. Between the famous Faraglioni and the famous via Krupp, enjoying a fresh Caprese salad for lunch is a must.
- 2 tomatoes
- 250 gr mozzarella
- 10 basil leaves
- Olive oil
- Balsamic vinegar
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Rinse the tomatoes and cut them into slices. Arrange them on a nice plate and season them with a touch of olive oil, fresh basil and a pinch of salt. Then remove the moisture from the mozzarella. Cut into slices and place the pieces on top of the tomatoes.
As with all traditional recipes, even the Caprese salad exists in different varieties. For example, some versions require dry oregano over the tomatoes. The Caprese salad can also be prepared with buffalo mozzarella.
