Soft Banana Bread

Who doesn’t like banana bread?

It is tasty, smells good and sweet. You don’t have to add any additional sugar, since bananas give the bread all sweetness they have. Besides, banana bread is simple to make and you don’t have any special ingredients for it.

Time: 1 hour and 20 minutes

Serving: 1 leaf of bread


  • 2-3 medium bananas
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at cool room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • (optional) 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour


First, preheat the oven to 180°C. Lightly grease a loaf pan (you can use a normal one, if you don’t have a loaf pan).

Then, in a large bowl, combine the butter, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Beat till smooth. Add the mashed bananas and eggs. Again, beat until smooth. Later, add the flour, then the walnuts and stir.

Next, spoon the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top. Bake the bread for 45 minutes.

Finally, remove the bread from the oven. Use a long toothpick to check if the bread is done: the centre should come out clean. If it does, bake the bread an additional 5-10 minutes.

When the bread is done, allow the bread to cool for 10 minutes in the pan. Remove it from the pan, and cool it completely on a rack.
