Everyone knows that food is good, but the best one is the homemade!
Do you want to bake your own bread? Good news! There is the recipe for you so you can prepare a bread without any food preservatives or additional sugar and salt.
Despite of common knowledge, you don’t need any special machine or ingredients to bake a bread. The main disadvantage is the fact it’s quite time-consuming, however, it’s worth it. We can assure you that it will taste and smell better than the one you can find in a supermarket.
Time: around 2 hours
Making: 1 leaf
- 1 1/4 cups of warm water
- 1/3 cup of honey
- 1 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 50g of dry yeast
- 1 cup of white flour
- 1 cup of cranberries
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
In a medium bowl, sprinkle the yeast onto the warm water and stir until the yeast dissolves. Stir in the honey and set aside for a few minutes, until the yeast blooms and swells a bit.
In the meantime, mix the flours and salt in a large bowl. Add the wet mixture to the dry, add cranberries and stir very well. Then, cover the bowl with a cloth and set in a warm place for 30 minutes, to rise.
Next, preheat the oven to 180C. When the bread rises, bake the bread for 35-40 minutes, until golden and pulling away from the sides of the pan. Remove from oven, and turn the bread out of the pan quickly. Let it cool.
